PG Exia Repair IV + SH Studio Resin Conversion
Final photoshoot. I’m proud of how it turned out, when I started this build a few months ago I was not expecting results like this. There were a lot of fitting issues and the quality of mold was far away from perfect but now it’ one beautiful model to display. Instruction was not that clear and there were a few missing steps, there was a need to sand/trim part after it was already painted as there were some fitting issues that I did not notice before. The GN Shield itself is very heavy and bends the whole structure to one side. I had to reinforce joints with gorilla glue and put a few thin cutouts of rubber under the waist joint to strengthen the left side, otherwise the shield was pulling the whole thing down.
Action base was painted with spray cans, only small details were painted with airbrush. This was my first time using spray cans on model kits. I’ve put too much on the first layer and it overflowed under the masking tape. I was able to sort this out and it’s not that visible, mistakes happen.
Overall I can highly recommend this resin kit if you have time and money to spend. This was my third resin kit and there will be another one in the future. Like I said before it’s hard to do a normal kit after you made a resin kit with nice details.
