It’s been a while but I have gathered a lot for you girls and boys.
For starters I just love the way the Gundam kits are in the anime and try to stay as close as possible to the source when painting. It couldn’t bee different this time around.
I choose the color scheme to be as close as possible to how Turn-X is portrayed in the animation. I went with bright lime/pistachio green. It was my own mix and I am really happy with the result.

During painting I pre shaded outer lines and raised details with black paint. Then started to fill in with color starting from the center and going outwards with the color blending it all together with black outline. In my opinion it gives a more realistic look and adds dimension to otherwise flat painting.

After all dried up for 24h it was time to work on details and the beloved masking tape 😀
I decided to paint all the detail that was ” see-through” the outer armor, using metallic colors. For masking I only use hobby grade tape, Tamiya masking tape never failed me here. All the parts that needed additional work were masked of, painted with gloss black and then MR. Hobby H – Red Steel.

To seal it all up I used the gloss varnish in thin layers to give it a proper shine. Next step will be adding panel lines and decals. This I will go through in my next post.
