It was great journey – real return to scale modeling after years. New techniques, paining with fast drying and self-leveling acrylics and general ease of use Vallejo Mecha made this project smooth and very satisfying I love RGMs – for sure it is not my only RGM79… 🙂 Next step – photo session of finished…
Additional details painted and Vallejo Mecha Matt applied. I decided to replace antenna – guitar string looks just fine!
Dirt, wear, streaks, scratches and beated up metal – thats how I like my Gunpla.
I like those small details in weathering – dirt, scratches, rust (of course gundamium will not) streaks oils stains and etc. Someone didn’t washed hands today….
After application of clear varnish (Vallejo Mecha – out of the bottle) and giving it fair amount of drying time, the time has come for water slides application. I like this part of project – decals – in my opinion, specially in case of Gunpla modeling decals are super important! All those small notes/warnings/caution marks…
..couldn’t wait – I assembled all painted parts together – damn – it looks amazing like brand new machine out of factory! Small photo-etched details and pistons adds extra flavor … it looks definitely “too new” – I’m fan of realistic models – machines that are used on battle field somewhere in UC 🙂 Weathering…
In gunpla I just love mechanical details – eg pistons!In RGM foot pistons are visible and designed as operational by Bandai. Unfortunately paint is quickly stripped down – my plan is to make this detail operational and real. Simple tip for working pistons – all you need is silver tape used for chimneys tubes connection…
