Crux Terminatus with a chain and some additional battle scars/dirt applied (the sword was beaten as well) – now I can finally say – It’s FINISHED! I’m really proud of this piece – final gallery coming soon! It was great journey to paint MCFarlane SpaceMarine (not the last one..), definitely worth to spend some time…
This has been in a hiatus for quite a bit. This time time has come for something different then usual Gunpla. Kenbu is a different kind of beast, more mechanicall, a lot simpler industrial design but a very interesting pice of plastic. Inner frame has a lot of mechanical detail that I very much appriciate…
As final touches for my project I decided to approach hand-made purity seals. Personally I don’t like that seal and parchment from original riffle, it looks like scaled-up mini figure, absolutely not detailed and not realistic at all.First I recreated “seals” as copy of original one – mine was created from GreenStuff, then painted Citadel…
My take of shoulder shield design finalized as some kind of campaign specific. It is hand painted with Citadel/Vallejo Game acrylics with some decals added from GreenStuffWorld set – I really like how it ended up – then some more weathering and its done.Additional decals and weathering was applied on a figure, looks wear and…
It was quite a time from last update – there are times in life when you need to take a deep breath and stop for a moment… Anyhow, I returned to my project – model building its a good relief and way to clear your head out of thoughts… I painted the sword – AK…
Ultramarine sword getting proper shape, following my drawing, I started to recreate a sword from plain pla plates. In meantime, SpaceMarine was a bit weathered and flat black was applied on armor joints and future gold trims. I’m always putting black base before gold application – its just looks better that way 🙂 Additional sword…
AK Xtreme metal gold/bronze/and steel metallic paints were used to paint Imperialis and shoulder icons.I was a hell of masking – but effect is just worth it! AX Xtreme Metal – easy to use – great effects! Best metallics imho.
I applied Vallejo Chipping medium and started to paint blue shades from Vallejo Mecha range. I was not so happy with chipping effects – it was way to heavy I expected and planned… Anyhow – I was planning to pain this marine as really beaten up veteran – so maybe this chipping will work fine.…
Tamiya Silver and black from LP line as preshade airbrushed. In meantime I started to think about additional weapon for my SpaceMarine…. To be continued….
I was still missing something for my Ultra Veteran, maybe Iron Halo? Affirmative! Did quick paper drawing to get right proportions, then 1,5mm pla-plates were used. For spikes, I took plastic rod from sprues and fixed it to electric hobby drill (Parkside brand from Lidl – love it!), then sanding blocks did the job well!…
